Are the credit repair programs worthy ?

I have had a few people approach me about paying $250 for their credit repair service and it would help to increase my credit score....how does this service work?

  1. NO NO NO you should NEVER have to 'pay' anyone to 'fix' your credit!! just be smart about it. pay current bills on time. don't accumulate new debt. work at paying off old debt. contact creditors directly and explain the situation they may work out a better deal with you. sometimes you can pay off credit card debt at a lower settlement. but you do not need to pay anyone to do this!
  2. No.The best way to a higher score is to pay your bills on time and never owe more than 20% of your credit line.
  3. Please read the Federal Trade Commission link (below) on credit repair services. If you must use a credit repair service, go to the Department of Justice link (also below) and find one of the ones they have approved of for debt counseling. At least you have a decent shot of getting an ethical one that way. A lot of them are total ripoffs.

  5. try www.creditboards.com --you can do it yourself--its a lot of info when you first start to read--but it's knowledge that will help you now and in your future.
  6. I will keep it short and simple. Credit Repair is a gamble. Credit Repair companies try to dispute all remarks in hopes the creditor cannot produce the proper paperwork to defend themselves. If you owe someone money, they will produce the paperwork. Now, if there are actual inaccurate remarks, thats another story. Pay off or settle your debts and start rebuilding.
  7. No need to pay someone for something you can do yourself. I used a "do-it-yourself" credit repair kit that costs a tiny fraction of what those companies would have charged me, that I purchased from the below website

It just takes time and patience.I am the owner of this company ( New Millennium Credit Repair )and we do well because we are honest and upfront.
