- Yes, they pay no attention to bad credit scores.
- Typically the only time you won't be able to get a federal loan is if you have a federal loan that is currently in collections (defaulted), your school (or the # of credits you are taking) does not qualify you, or if your income is too high. With federal loans it does not matter what your credit looks like. If for whatever reason you don't qualify for federal loans and you need to get an alternative student loan, then you would definitely need a cosigner.
