Where can someone with really bad credit get a home loan?

I was pre approved for a loan, the bank paid for the appraisal, and it came back better than we expected. I haven't heard from the morgtage company in a month, I got a denial letter from the bank on monday, and the realtor is asking me for answers. Any ideas? i got a hold of the morgage company finally and they said they would have info for me the begining of this week.
