Does anyone know of a personal loan for bad credit? Does this exist?

Would like to consolidate bills so they are not so high. Not a homeowner, with bad credit, not that bad. Would like a loan to help me pay off bills.

1. It depends on how much you are paying already. This kind of loan will be quite expensive and carry lots of fees. You might be better off tackling your debt rather than taking on new debt. In any event you will have to compare the costs of a new loan against what you are paying now to figure out if it makes any financial sense. After two or three years of paying your bills on time and staying well within your credit limits, you might find you no longer have bad credit and can qualify for loans at reasonable rates.

3. Check out a website called Prosper - http://www.prosper.com. They are backed by venture-capital and they connect individuals who have money to lend to individuals who need to borrow money. You set the interest rate and people bid on earning your loan by bidding lower interest rates. Pretty interesting concept and I've read good things.
