There are many offers of credit cards for those with bad credit, but money is required. Trustworthy?
"There are many offers of credit cards for those with bad credit, but money is required. Trustworthy?" I'm in a place and time where I can finally handle a credit card, but because I have a credit score of 600, what can I do to improve it? My debt's already been paid off. All of it. I have a school loan that I pay regularly (Automatic debit). I've been considering applying for a bad-credit credit card in hopes of establishing a line of credit and carefully tending to it, paying my bills on time, but making sure there's constantly about 40% unpaid. Is this a smart route or is there an alternative? Any suggestions on credit cards (for people with bad credit)? Any suggestions on improving a score that's at 600 and can't be increased due to all owed debt already being paid off? Thank you in advance.

- Go to www.capitolone.com or .ca and apply for their secured Master Card. You will be approved. What happens with a secured card normally is that you have to put up an equal amount and often double or triple the amount of the limit on the card and that money is held...never used to pay your card...and is ually released to you after a year or two as long as you kept your payments up. With Capitol One though, you can get approved for as little as $75, but can be more, for a security deposit for a credit card with a $1000 limit or more. This is what we did nearly two years ago and it has been great for building our credit back up. I highly recamend this card.
