My story is very long, I'll try not to bore you so much but I have to give you all the facts: 1. I got madly in love with my 1st love and moved together with an illegal alien from Brazil for 3 1/2 years, after founding out I was pregnant (our 1st child for both of us). We were very happy and optimistic about starting our new life together. He made my his fiancee after a couple of weeks. 2. He was starting out in this country, I had a stable job and I was becoming a U.S. permanent resident, so I was our head of the household until I actually got the boot from my previous employer at 8 months pregnant because I couldn't perform full-time anymore. 3. He then supported the household for 3 months, time where I found a new full-time job (even better than the last one) so we decided to buy a bigger car for our expanding family, almost all funds came from selling my old car though, about $3500 cash. 4. We moved to a bigger apartment short after, again most funds came for the security deposit came from my bank account (luckily I always kept my own bank account) about $2500. 5. He started a business partnership before our daughter turned 10 months, and things started changing then, he was out of the house "working" longer hours and even some weekends, never wanted to do "things together" anymore, then changed drastically to going out with his friends to drink every weekend. He bought a motorcycle but begged me to use my name as the owner, because he didn't have a drivers liscense yet. He took me twice on rides only because I got very scared when we almost got into an accident on the 1st ride. 6. Things got worse when one night he came back home drunk and violent and mad at me so he started throwing and breaking things, I believe so that he didn't have to hit me. That was the 1st time I left him and spent the weekend at my parents home. Our daughter was almost a year then. 7. He came after me begging for forgiveness and imploring me to come back home, promising to change, which he did - for about 6 months. 8. The following summer was close by so he wanted to buy a jet ski, again begged me to put it in my name, so he didn't have any trouble riding it. Again he scared me on the 1st ride, so never took me on another ride but I always went to the river with him anyway. 9. I found out I was pregnant again when I had a natural misscarriage :( He was happy that we weren't pregnant anymore because he said our daughter would've "suffered" at that time - she was a little over 1 1/2 years. He wanted to make sure 100% that I didn't get pregnant again, so he convinced me to start using an IUD. 10. His business started failing, so he went back to his old boss. He started hanging out on weekends with his single friends again. I started following him whenever I found out where he was (sometimes at bars, others at friends places) and showed up unannounced and waited for him until he finally wanted to go home. Eventually he got sick of being embarrased by his friends and started behaving again. It was a short but sweet time, he even took me on trips by ourselves and even took me dancing a couple of times. 11. By the time our daughter turned 2 things were as good as could be, he even got his driver's lisense and we both got our own cars for the 1st time. Still, he ended up putting his car under my name, so that insurance wouldn't be so expensive for him due to having an out-of-state license (saving him half-off of his car policy). 12. The day that would change our lives forever came shortly after. He fell from a ladder at work and broke his right elbow in 3 pieces. I put him immediately under my work's insurance plan to be able to have him see an specialist. The specialist recommended reconstructive surgery and a date was set after a couple of visits. Ultimately, his boss came through and offered to cover him under his worker's compensation plan, which included restoring his salary and paying all medical bills and physical therapy. This happened a little after 3 months of his injury date. 13. He had his 1st surgery, which was unsuccessfull leading to his 2nd surgery, where they replaced his elbow with a metal implant and took him even longer to recover than the 1st. He took advice from a co-worker to find a worker's comp lawyer. She promised to get him at least $100,000 for his injury in less than 6 months. He stayed out of full-time work exactly a year to the date of his injury. 14. The day he decided to start working part-time, his car's transmission went. I offered to lend him the $ to fix it, he decided instead to buy a newer car. I, after almost a year of being the only one working in the house, agreed to sign a financing contract as a co-signor, which wasn't possible after all due to his lack of credit (all bills where in my name except for our cell phone bill). After having the car salesman convince me it was ok, that he could help transfer the loan to my fiancee 6 months
