Bad Credit Agency

Student Loans, Bad credit, No cosigner. What do I do?

Everytime I apply for a student loan I get denied. I don't have good credit and everyone else in my family has horrible credit, therefore a co-signer is out of the question. I have to work 3 jobs to pay for school which leaves me not much time to study and tired througout my classes, therefore resulting in 2.0-2.3 gpa every semester which means scholarships are out of the question too. On top of all that I have to pay out of state tuition. There is not a single college in my state that offers my major, Hospitality and Entertainment Management. Plus I hate living here and don't care for this state at all. I love my out of state school and the state its in. I thought about becoming a resident of the state to get in-state tuition but i would have to quit school for a year and work a full time job. I refuse to be in school for 6 or 7 years and I'm already a year behind and I started in 2004 and is still considered a Junior, so I won't do that. So r there any loans out there for 1 like me?

  2. Hi- my state does not offer my major- Visual Communication Design, and my high school told me about a program called the Academic Common Market where I receive insate tuition while I attend a school out of state.. I know how you feel, good luck, I will copy the website..... http://www.sreb.org/programs/acm/acmindex.aspx
  3. Sometimes the best thing to do is the thing we don't want to do. If the difference between in-state and out-of-state is significant, which is normally true, it may be in your best interest to take a year to become a resident. In the scheme of things, taking one more year to get a degree won't make a significant difference in your life 20 years from now. This would also give you a chance to apply for federal student loans which do not take your credit history into account for approval and they won't require a co-signor if you're an adult. Federal loans like the perkins and stafford would be the way to go, you can find more information about them at http://ed.gov and compare rates and fees of different lenders at sites like http://www.studentloanconsultants.com.
  4. I believe there are loans out there but its harder to find because no one will help someone with bad credit and no co signer.
