  1. NO, try 60 or 90 days and the best way is to pay down revolving debt. You do not need any "credit repair" service to do this. By the way, if you have derogatory items on your credit report, there is NOTHING a "credit repair" service can do for you that you could not do yourself for free. The process of removing derogatory items typically would take 60 to 90 days at best. The only way you can really quickly pick up your credit score is to pay down revolving debt balances, like credit cards. This would have an impact in as little as 60 days, possibly less, depending on when the creditor next reports to the credit bureaus.
  2. Read this site before you do anything; it's a very good self-help, peer support site: http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php There's some stuff in credit repair that's counterintuitive, like what to dispute and when it's better not to try to pay an old debt. These guys will tell you that stuff, which even some credit repair agencies may not do.
  3. The sad part is that getting a bad credit score usually can be done quite rapidly.... On the other hand, repairing it only takes one thing: TIME. There's no such thing as "credit repair" service. Any company telling you this is trying to sell you air or scamming your for money (hey, more debt) !!! Like it was mentioned before, paying down your debts will lower your debt ratio but the only short term solution is: There isn't any; only time will straighten things out. One last piece of advice, set up a budget & don't spend money that you think you will have or hope to have; spend what you currently have only. A nice (but sometimes not so nice) Bank Manager
  4. If you think you've learned your lesson about not spending for things you don't need, then I would try raising your credit limit (and of course paying off your debt). This would doubly shrink your credit to debt ratio which can make a big impact and quickly. Maybe not as quickly as thirty days but every little bit counts. This is all I have changed about my credit (spending habits have stayed the same) and in a couple months my score has gone up by almost 20 points! But this is only to be done if you're really serious about getting out of debt, otherwise you could end up back in it all over again, even deeper than before. So, ye be warned, tread with caution, etc.... Once again, credit "repair services" are one step short of scams. They do what they say they will do...but if you know how to, you can do it yourself just as easily.
  5. When you borrow money from a lending institution to purchase an item or finance a project you are charged an interest rate. The interest rate you receive is a direct reflection of your credit score and credit profile. Borrowers with perfect credit will obviously get the lowest rates and therefore have smaller payments. But what if you have less then ideal credit or just want to increase your credit score in 30 days? There are many inside tricks you can use to cheaply and effectively increase your credit score in 30 days. The fastest method is to increase your credit score is to increase the credit limits on revolving credit accounts, this is easily done with a phone call to the creditor in most cases. With this method you are trying to increase your credit limit to a point where your current credit balance is now 45-50% of the balance. This tip alone can increase your score up to 50 points in 1 month Another useful tip to increase your credit score is to be added as an authorized used on a friends or relatives credit card account. You want to make sure that the account you get added to is in good standing and has a high credit limit with a low balance. Disputing old an false information on your credit report is a good way to increase your credit score and is very easy to do. If you have a copy of your credit report you can dispute falsely reported or negative accounts that are a few years old. This is easily done on the credit bureaus websites or by writing a dispute letter to the credit bureaus. If you are unsure how to go about this process there are credit repair companies that can do it for you. There are many self credit repair books and E-books available online as well and I personally recommend this detailed and descriptive ebook at http://tinyurl.com/397o7d These 3 tips when applied should increase your credit core in 30 days. However the most important thing you can do to maintain your increased credit score is to always pay your bills on time and never borrow more then you can pay back. Cheers! Daniel Tay. 6. Forget about credit repair services. They are scams. Paying off your credit cards is the only way to get quick score increases. Everything else takes time -- at least 24 months consistent, on time payment history. Being added as an authorized user doesn't work anymore. They changed the rules. The account might show up on your report but isn't calculated in your score.
  7. I am going to tell you how I increase score's in 30 days. In fact, depending on whats driving down your credit score. You can get it improved in less then a week. I work with a company called Advantage Credit. (they are a credit reporting agency) I am not sure from a consumer standpoint if you can use them, I setup an account for my business for pulling peoples credit. There are wonderfull and neat advanced tools that I can select "what if" scenerios and the software will tell me the credit score improvement. For instance I just did this last week with a borrower who he paid off a $250 target charge card it would increase his score 24 points. So my client went online, paid the card off and he faxed me over the online statement showing the balance of zero. I then faxed this information over to Advantage Credit and the charged me $70 to do whats called a "rapid rescore" and within 2 days I re-issued a credit report and sure enough it move 24 points and he qualified for the loan. So all in all it costs me $26 for each of the 2 credit reports and $70 for the rapid rescore. However just bit of warning, this can get very expensive because they charge per item and per credit bureau. Its not trickery or gimmicky....its real and I use it all the time for borrowers. To be honest, EVERYONE should have access to this kind of information and tools, and why the consumer doesnt is beyond me! I have no experience with any other angency, I just know what our company uses and its very professional and it works. Just a side note. I don't dispute there are companies out there that scam. Heck pick any industry out there are you will find the scammers. I have talked with our credit company for hours and hours about credit and scores and what works and what doesn't. They have held seminars at our company for our staff on the in's and out's of it all. And its a very complicated process. The unfortunate thing is who the heck do you trust?? The one thing I would NOT recommend is just pay my bills and hope for the best, that is just poor advise from people who just give opinions without knowing the facts. Heck, up until 2 years ago I thought there was nothing you could do as well. There are so many things I have seen on credit reports that were just plain wrong. Heck just moving debt around to a different credit card with a higher limit so not be have it maxed out can increase your credit score. Good luck.
  8. Credit repair services are not always the best option, if you are looking to buy a home or make a major purchase they count against you the same or if not worse than a bankruptcy. Your credit score actually fluctuates on a daily basis. The best way to improve your score is to pay off any collections you have, make payments on time and stop applying for credit. Every collection you pay off increases your score. Where at the same time every late payment you make lowers your score, and every inquiry (places that pull your score) lowers your score. Also, if you have any credit cards, the higher amount you use of your credit limit, that also effects you negatively. Good luck Also, a good resource is... http://debt.knowledged.info/credit_card.html Hope that helps.
