Bad Credit Agency

what is your experience with credit rating repair companies?

do they work? are they a rip off. Is it just a case of paying your debts on time and regularly and waiting for your credit rating to get back to normal in the process? or is it bad for life?

  1. It is a matter of being responsible. Make payment on time. I have not used repair companies, I have done it myself. It was a frustating situation but learnt from it.
  2. I've never used them but I worked hard at cleaning and improving my credit. It's really a slow process. Go to the library first, there are tons of books on the subject. Get them all and scan thru the advise given. There's one I thought was useful, i think it was called the credit repair kit. It came with a bunch of sample letters in the back that you can copy and use to send to credit agencies, lenders, etc. It also came with a software of the letters so you can use, just add your personal info, print, and send. If you don't have time for all that and have a few hundred dollars to waste, instead of paying your bills with it, use a credit repair agency.
  3. I have been on incharge.... They are pretty good.... Stop the phone calls.... and one monthly bill, and have everything paid in about 3-5 years... Some look at is as bad, others look at it as a good thing.. So it's really an iffy situation. You CAN NOT apply for other cards while on it... Only thing you can do is get a home or car, because they consider that a necessity.
  4. credit cards got the right name credit, you have to remember in order for the credit people to get paid is to charge you interest. think about this, put yourself in their shoes ok. ask yourself this question will i loan someone some money i don't know and if i do how can i get my money back. the one way is report it to the Credit Beau, lots of people in their right mind don't want their credit miss up because that will kept them from getting that house that they always wanted, a car, student loan, and etc
  5. Why pay someone when you can do it yourself for free? You can do everything that they can do. They can not preform miracles. Yes, you have to pay your debts on time & live within your means.
  6. I agree with all of the answers but there are some good agencys out there. Yes you can try to do it yourself, but believe me depending on the severity of your credit, you might not have the time nor the expertise to tackle this problem. It is not easy and don't let anyone tell you that. You still will have to pay your debts on time, to improve your score and keep your debt ratio to a minimum. But I would suggest a credit repair agency, unless you fill you have the time and expertise to do it yourself. My feeling is that they are the experts, let them take care of it. Just a matter of finding the best place. Go for it, the sooner you start, the sooner you are on the road to recovery.
  7. i find companies charge you to much for what you can do all by yourself. i use credit matrix its cheap and gets the job done and i do it all myself. I've seen more results doing it myself than paying someone else to do it. all you need is the right tool to get you started.
  8. Seriously...there is no way you can repair your bad credit other than paying it off and building your score up this way. I've bookmarked this site... http://www.safelinked.info/jump.php?link=debt Best of luck.
  9. It is always a good idea to get all of the information that the agencies have availableabout you. Unless you start from at least a position of maximum information you will be at a major diadvantage. A good idea is to get free information to see if that leads you to your desired outcome. A very helpful resource for me has been http://www.creditrepairbible.info/subscribe.html
  10. Yeah, they work fine! http://creditreport.imess.net - really good one. I use it to monitor my credit score during last 3 years. And also cleaned off some bad items from my credit report.
  11. I heard rip-off stories. In 2003 I paid $300 to get stuff done for me. Well, my credit report remained unchanged after a few months. Fast foward to 2008 and I decided to go with legal assistance. I found a credit repair company with attorneys that represented the clients to get stuff cleaned off of credit reports. Based on what i've heard from friends and based on what i've been through, as far as credit repair I would go with http://www.creditlawgroup.com/index.aspx?rid=r0013 If you still have doubts then I would at least call them and get it from the horses mouth but I am satsified with what they did for me.
