Credit Repair?? I have satisfied most of the items on my credit report.?
My # is 630 and i have old satisfied and paid accounts on my report and would like to get them removed. I would like to know if there is a standard letter i can send to all of the agencies that have a rating on me to have them removed. Do i need to send copies of documents or is it ehough that they themselves list the debt as satisfied? Thank you in advance for sll responses.

- Paying off accounts that have been seriously delinquent frequently doesn't help much if at all with your credit scores. I recommend that you visit the forums at creditboards.com and read the newbies section about repairing your credit.
- Paying old debt does not remove the items from your credit file. They should show Paid. Sometimes it takes 30 to 60 days for creditors to update. They will age off 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency. Pay old debt also won't improve your score -- unless you got a delete for payment. However, creditors look at more than just your score. Paid old debt looks much better than unpaid.
- Serious delinquency problems can't be removed from your credit history. But in the future, if you make the occasional slip, try to contact your lender right away (You can call, write a letter to or email them) and ask them to remove the information from your records in a "goodwill adjustment."
