- Why make yourself a slave to credit? Go with cash. Save until you can buy. My $.02. But to fully answer your question, I don't know of any. There are scams out there, ways to dispute claims, etc. They are temporary.
- You simply write the credit bureau and contest anything you feel is wrong..............or throw your money away to those con artists
- Lexington Law is good, they charge about $40 a month and then you need to subscribe to something like Truecredit to always have access to current reports. THe only downside is they only dispute aboot 3 to 5 items a month. I was with them for 13 months, they took my crappy credit from 360 to 620, now it is my responsibility to keep current with my credit to build it from there. I realise that people think that could be called a scam, but they did do all the footwork for me. I paid them around $500, and they removed many debts, well over $3000 in things like past cell phones, etc. Even a reposession from Ford. For the Paralegal below me, it is true that some credit AGENCIES hurt you credit, not Lexington, they only legally dispute your items. Companies like CCR Consumer Credit Repair are actually owned by the credit companies, as a way to attempt to gather some of the owed debt and they DO hurt your credit. Lexington takes care of the dispute proceess, one you could do yourself, but like you said, DO NOT HAVE THE TIME.
- Credit repair companies, hurt your credit, while they resolve some issues of bad credit,it reflects on your credit, that you used a credit repair company to fix your credit. and the debt consolidation companies, while you pay them to pay your bills and cut your payments, its the same thing as bankruptcy, it ruins your credit with the companies you list and your credit score... credit card companies do not have to accept a contract from a debt consolidation co, and then they shut down your acct and you still get bad credit from the experience.... the best thing to do is to write the credit bureaus and just list the disputes and say you did not make the bill...and keep disputing it, they will take it off your credit report and meanwhile, it shows you did it not some company. Paralegal 20 yrs trust me, doing it yourself is the best way
- I think what A LOT of people do is confuse credit counseling with credit repair companies. Credit counseling, even those who charge a small fee for their services, are the reputable ones who help you get control of your debt to pay it off. Credit repair companies charge outrageous fees for promises that they cannot keep. And MOST people who say that you shouldn't have to pay someone to help you pay your bills has not been in your situation. I on the other hand had over $10,000 in credit card debt last year. I felt that I wasn't making any headway because I wasn't saving anything. I couldn't afford to because I was paying off the interest, but the payments were at the minimum. It was as if nothing was changing and balances weren't going down. After trying a debt settlement company for 2 months, I felt very uncomfortable able ignoring my debts so that my creditors will offer settlements. I then found out about CareOne. They help to reduce interest rates and eliminate late fees for a small fee. They never promised me that they can make sure that my credit report will say nothing negative and I accepted that. And MANY people will say that doing this is the same as bankruptcy. Not true. I have spoken to all three of the credit card companies that I included under my CareOne account and only one says on my report that it was closed by them and not me while the other two say that they are being paid as agreed. In those cases, you have to wait until the account you had with them falls off your report. Today, I am saving money and have less debt. Many people have only read stuff but they haven't experienced it. Good luck.
- Here is one which is reliable and registered with BBB. http://ezconsolidation.com
- To Repair credit score Your credit score is based mostly on: 1. Length of credit history 2. Payment history. 3. Ratio of credit used to available credit. 4. Number of credit inquiries you authorized. If you cancel your card, you'll be hurting your credit ratio. (#3). You want to deliberately keep your oldest credit card open, even if you never use it. You want to always pay the minimums of each loan on time every month. You want to keep your available credit high, but actually only have balances equalinig 25% or less. You want to keep your credit inquiries to a minimum. Try for no more than 3 or 4 per year for any type of loans. You do these things and your credit score will quickly soar into the 700s. ------------------------------------------------- http://www.loansandinsurances.com/
