Bad Credit Agency

Any bad experiences with hiring a Credit Counseling Agency?

I recently signed up for credit monitoring through my bank so I can completely pay them off my bad debt, now that I have the $$$ to do so. Even though I can do this on my own by calling each company, I felt that it would be a good idea to hire a professional who could negotiate better and get all negative items completely removed from my credit history. I contacted a credit counseling company I heard advertised over the radio, and they were pushy right away (red flag). They said they would charge me $399.00 and they are located notionally, so I won’t need to meet with them face to face. I hung up and decided I have some homework to do before I make another call. Anyone out there who have used a credit counseling agency and had a bad experience?

  1. A good idea would be to do an online search for any credit company you might be interested in and any bad feedback should come up in the search results. Also have a look at this link for for info on credit repair & debt relief >> http://www.cashloans-unlimited.com/debt-relief.html
  2. I would also go to www.ripoffreport.com and check out what other's have said about whateve company you are considering...... ALso I think you can do this yourself. Call the creditors and ask them for a 'pay for delete' settlement which you propose to pay them off (for less than what you owe) in exchange for them eliminating bad credit from your credit file. What have you got to loose, furthermore can't you spend the $400.00 better than some agency can. Not sure how much your current job pays you but work for yourself and pay yourself the rate you are used to and keep the 400.00 for yoru expenses. I vote for doing it yoruself
