Which way is better, as far as improving my credit? Debt consolidation or credit repair?

I'm trying to improve my credit score and have come across these two options. I would like to know which of these two options is fast and reliable?

1. Paying what you owe, not using credit, and saving to pay cash for things is the best way to repair credit. Anything else is simply moving debt, not improving credit.
2. The Debt Consolidation dont do the credit repair folks if you own a home and you can pull equity out and pay off your debt. secured debit is better than unsecured debit

First, there are no legit credit repair companies...the only credit repair is you doing it yourself As for Debt consolidation...there are companies out there that assist but you can do that on your own also If you have some free time, you should watch or listen to Dave Ramsey Show .... http://www.daveramsey.com
