Credit repair??
Where should I go to have my credit repaired? Attorney, credit counselors, who? A lot of my credit issues are about 5-7yrs old. Thanks ahead of time! Also how much will it cost?

- In most towns there is a FREE CREDIT COUNSELING SERVICE. Look in the yellow pages or under government?
- If you haven't paid anything on these accounts for the last 5-7 yrs. don't start now, unless you can get the creditors to delete the accounts off your credit reports (Pay for Delete). The longer a debt remains unpaid the less impact it has on your credit. So, if you start paying on debts this old, it will actually hurt your credit score. Negative debts (charge-off/collections) only stay on your credit report for 7 yrs anyway. If you really want to, wait until these debts fall off your reports, then pay. You should also get your free credit reports to see what debts are still being reported. The reports should have a date for when the accounts will be deleted.
