Bad Credit Agency

credit collections agency?

suppose i stopped paying my credit card and it was turned over to the collections agency. how many months do you think it would take before a sherriff would come to my place to notify me to go to court if they were to press charges? if i dont show up to court will i be arrested or will it be automatically deducted from my work wages when i find work through wage garnishment? what if i cant find a job and save up money to pay the bill off what could happen?

  1. they wont. it doesnt work like that. you can not be arrested for credit debt. usually if you are turned over to a collection agency, they'll harrass you a lot till you pay. even after years! i have never heard of any actually suing someone, because its not like they can get anything other than a judgement against you. and you and they already know you owe them money. oh, and that whole sending them a dollar thing doesnt work. i know sometimes good people get into trouble and bad debt. there are many reasons. dont pass judgement people. i'd suggest buying a credit repair book. i got one at barnes and noble. it'll answer legal questions and will outline your rights.
  2. Hey, let's not worry about little things like sherriffs. How about this, you remember when you got that card? You remember when you bought something from a business with it? You know how much you enjoyed the item you bought with it? Well, turns out, that was real money you were using, and now you have to pay it back. Be responsible and pay for your credit card debt.
  3. Depends on how much money you owe. They will turn it over to a collection agency that will try to drive you nuts. Send them one dollar each month. They will tell you that isnot good enough, but just keep doing it. It makes it hard for them to take you to court if you are trying to pay it. But eventualy they will, and they will take yourpay check. They don't care about your situation. They are more interested in making an example of you.
  4. What if, indeed
  5. There are a few variables that need to be considered...first, how much is it that you owe....second is, how hard are you to find? what is your payment schedule like? Placing a debt into collections does cost money.... If you owe $400.00, I doubt that they will come looking for you at all, Ifyou owe 4k, you can expect a court summons in about six months. I would suggest that you answer all your court summons' because if you ignore the summons, you will be charged with contempt of court and you will be arrested. Not sure how paying a bill works without a job.... I was wondering can you start some type of work for yourself.... it might be a good time to start a lawn care business....what about having a massive garage sale to help you get caught up on your bills and clean out your house at the same time. Best of luck to you what about selling things on ebay. GOOD luck toyou
  6. You will not get arrested.
