Bad Credit Agency

Are there unsecured credit cards for people with very bad credit?

I've had some tough times and made stupid choices when I was younger, now I'm paying for it with really bad credit. I was close to having my house being forclosed, but I was able to fix that. Unfortunately, It's not completely over and is still on my credit report. I've tried orchard bank, and first premier bank and some others. I want an unsecured credit card, not pre-pay or a secured card. I can't seem to find one that will accept me. I'm becoming quite desperate, and can't think of anywhere else to look. If anyone has any ideas of where I could go It would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

  1. yes there is it wont be unlimited when the limit rolls around but www.CreditCards.com hope it helps or google unsecured credit cards for bad credit or poor credit i have 4 cards and i have bad credit one of them is a new card too! bad mistake though high interest
  2. I'm sure you can get a credit card, but will probably have a higher interest rate. You sound desperate, and thats not good! This itself could get you into trouble with a card! Be careful. Have you tried the bank that holds your mortgage? Also, try like a target or old navy, the interest is higher, but they are visa cards(not just for the store) They are easier to get, but interest is higher, your gonna have to deal and build back up your credit before you can start bartering for better rates
  3. No, if your credit sucks as a result of your foolishness, nobody will be willing to lend you money again for a long time. Why are you so desperate to get another credit card? can't wait to get back in debt.???? Take my advice and live within your means, don't spend what you don't have!!!!!
  4. I would look at why you need a credit card. You have just dodged a bullet with your house I would avoid getting more debt at all costs. Yes credit cards can be useful in an emergency, but a savings account can be More useful. I have pulled myself out of debt a few times, and have seen hundreds of lives ruined by credit cards. Avoid them, your home will over time help repair your credit
  5. Stay away from credit cards -- U did a wonderful job saving ur house. Be Proud of it. U can start off by getting your FREE credit report --- check out www.annualcreditreport.com It is always a good idea to keep track of your credit history once a year. It'll help you see the improvements or possible downside with your credit history. If you are really interested in getting the FICO scores, there's a small amount of $$. Best bet is to get a secured credit from your bank for a small amount of 1000$ or higer .. Over a period of 6 months or more, U can get it converted into a credit card w/o any problems. Once ur bank believes your credit worthiness, other banks will start offering their credit cards to you.
  6. I agree with posters 4 & 5. Being an credit analyst and underwriter for a credit card company, I can tell you firsthand that it's slim pickings for what you're trying to ask for. I manually review credit files to approve and or deny credit every day. To be honest, getting a credit card is the least of your worries, but if you HAVE to have a credit card, a secured one would be your best bet. Granted, there are unsecured ones out there that will take a chance on you, but not before gouging the available credit on the card in fees before you get the card (i.e. First Premier, Tribute, etc.), not to mention the obscene interest rate that will be charged. It's just not worth it. Like I said if you're that desperate, a secured card is the best option. At least you can control the credit line with whatever deposit you put up, and since you're putting up your own money, that will be incentive and motivation enough to pay on time and keep the balance paid off so that you can get the deposit back when it converts to a regular card. Most of the major banks (B of A, Wells Fargo, USBank, Orchard Bank) report their secured cards as regular cards. That's a start. But I really think that you should get your situation straightened out with your house before you try to get a credit card. My grandfather used to tell me that "a bought lesson is a taught lesson" You're now learning that the mistakes that you made in the past are costing you more than it's worth. I do wish you good luck and I thank you for reading.
  7. Unsecured bad credit credit cards These credit cards have high fees, which makes them a costly proposition to own. But, the bad credit people have limited choices. If a person with bad credit doesn't have anything to offer as collateral or is unable to buy a prepaid or debit card. This is the only option that remains. However, on a positive note, this unsecured bad credit credit card offers the person a chance to rebuild his credit history.
