- You can get a loan if you have something for collateral. We filed bankruptcy in Feb. and got a loan from American General last month. I used my as collateral. There are a few places who will chance on you, but check them out carefully
- If you are talking about student loans then sometimes you can. Did you fill out your FAFSA to see if you are eligible for Stafford loans? Those are government backed and you do not have to have good credit or a cosigner to qualify. Check out www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you are not eligible for Stafford Loans, you may be able to get a private student loan. Shop around for the best rates. I got mine through Citibank www.studentloan.com. Good luck!
