Bad Credit Agency

Can anyone suggest a legit credit couseling agency that works?

Does anyone know of a goog credit counseling agency that is legit? Also, i have been told that in NC there is a law that prevents someone from doing debt management or debt settlement, is this true?

1. If you go to credit counseling, a lot of banks (when applying for a mortgage) view that as a bankruptcy. I do not recommend going to credit counselling (at least the ones that consolidate your debt and lower payments). You're better off filing bankruptcy. I am a mortgage consultant and see too many borrowers who think they were doing the right thing by going to consumer credit counselling when, in the end, they were viewed the same as those who filed bankruptcy AND were still making payments to those creditors. Why not just start with a clean slate if your debt is overwhelmingly high?
2. Touchy subject, there are tons of scammers out there. go to www.adviceontime.com and read an article titled credit. this will help you out if you have some credit issues.
3. Debt counseling is worst for you credit than bankruptcy you should call all your creditors and ask for lower interest rates or settlement to pay then off if that does not work the file bankrupty i did it when i was 19 and left 50k worth of debt behind now i am 27 and can get anything i want
