Credit Repair?
I had a credit card go into collections 18 months ago. I settled for payment less than full with the condition that It would be considered on my credit report as Closed Paid in Full. However on my report it states "Charge -OFF - Settled less than full. I have since contact the credit card company and received a letter that the accounts were closed and paid in full. How do I go about getting my credit report updated to raise my score? Also my current Score is a 670. What should my score raise to?

- 670 is prime, the charge offs arent hurting your score. I have some info on instantlend about credit you should check out
- a credit reporting agency reports FACTUAL information....and what they are stating is indeed a FACTUAL STATEMENT...one cannot simply remove factual information. Credit score (FICO) change everyday...just because today it is 670 does not mean it cannot change tomorrow for good or bad...
- I would contact the credit report company and let them know and ask if they can correct it if your fax them a copy of the letter or you could have the company correct it with the credit bureau..... I wouldn't let it go.
- If there is an item on your credit report that is not correct you need to send the reporting agency a letter stating why it is wrong and any proof you have. They have 30 days to investigate. After this point it should be taken care of. If you call the phone number on the credit report they will give you very detailed instructions on exactly what to do.
