If I have better credit than my wife, would I be more likely to get approved if I applied individually?
As opposed to jointly, where my wife's credit would be taken into account as well? Or would having two people responsible for the loan out-weigh her bad credit? (Regarding Auto Financing)

- That might depend on how bad your wifes credit is. I just got an auto loan and qualified for another. I don't have sterling Aplus credit but everyone has always gotten paid, there may be a couple lates in the last few years. I was amazed at how easy it was to get an auto loan, I did it through Bank of Americas e-loan program and I only had 2 days in at my new job when I applied! I was actually surprised to get approved for as much as I did. And the Toyota dealership couldn't sign me up fast enough... Just go for it!
- That would depend on how bad your wife's credit is and other factors. If you're applying for a home loan, your wife has a "dower" interest in the home, so the bank would probably require her signature on the mortgage. For Car loans, you might be better going it alone. If your income isn't enough to repay the loan, according to the tables the lenders use, that would work against your being able to get a loan individually.
- Depends. Have you any joint accounts? If so, her credit could come into play. Also, you'll be asked on any loan or credit applications you fill out asking if you are married. Again, you'll get hit with her credit rating in some way. By the way, If you lie on a loan application and don't mention you are married to get around this issue, you will have committed a criminal offense in some states. It's called fraud and lending institutions do take this very seriously.
- No that might be not the case . Your wife is also a part of you . But don't worry you can get a loan now a days but you have to make some search on google and yahoo to find out those companies who give loans in spite of bad credits.
