Are there any credit repair companies that are legit? I want to fix my credit fast, because my husband and I want to buy a new house in about 6 months. There a lost of credit repair companies out there. They say that they can remove bad hits on your credit report. Has this worked for anyone? If so, which company? How much did you have to pay them? How much did your credit score increase? How long did it take? Thanks a bunch!
Are credit repair companies legit and do they really help? I am trying to raise my credit score quickly. Right now I am at 593-around 650 depending on agency. So, by paying off the 5 credit cards that I currently have(some with amounts ranging from 1,500-2,500), should that raise my credit score a great deal? credit repair companies - deal or dud? My husband and I are considering having a credit repair company clean up our credit. I have been working in this myself for about a yr and have increased our score by 50-60 points for each of us. The problem is there are certain things that just won't come off. Yes, the bad debt is legit from being young and dumb - but that a whole different topic in itself. I am told there are companies that can actually go in and change your credit report? How reliable is this info? Have you ever used one? Is it worth the cost? Any ideas?

I have a question about credit repair companies? I know that credit repair companies are real and they can work. What I want to know is how do I know a good credit repair company from a scam? I have heard a lot of bad things about Lexington Law and I thought they were a legit company. I won't be using them but I really need to find a service that is real and won't take me for all my money and run. ( Please don't answer by saying not to use a credit repair company. I know that I can do it myself but I don't have the time and I don't want to put the effort into it. I am willing to pay to have the service performed for me.) Are professional credit repair companies good to use? I have "Fair" credit and I'd like to improve it before buying a car, getting married, and maybe buying a new house. The bumps & bruises I have are: -2 late payments (30 days) on my Capital One card that I've had open for over 4 years. The late payments were both about 18 months ago. -I had a collection I paid off from Verizon Wireless. I had no idea I had a collection out or even a balance because they sent the notices to the wrong address and attempted to call on the PHONE NUMBER I CANCELLED! The collection is the big deal. I want that off my credit. Unfortunately, I'm extremely busy at work and really don't want to spend my very rare free time playing lawyer. I found a professional credit repair company advertised locally and contacted them. It sounds like they dispute things over and over until they are taken off my credit report. Is this ok? My credit report is outdated reflecting a negative score. Are there any companies to hire to help correct? I have a (really) bad credit score. I earned it in the late 90s (right after graduating college '97 - '99). Seven years have gone by but nothing has dropped off. I realize I need to start writing all the letters to the credit reporting agencies and get it updated and accurate. But I wanted to see if there were any companies out there that would write the letters and "fight the battle" to get my credit report updated and corrected. We are looking at buying in about a year and the guy recommended we going through a women in there office to clean up our credit.So we could get our scores(or atleast his up to 580)

Any good credit repair companies in the bay area? I've been trying to improve my credit score, I need to get a loan, and I've heard that the "rapid rescore" thing they offer is basically just disputing a bunch of entries at once, so they can approve you while the entries aren't listed, and afterwards they just come back verified and it's even worse than before. I tried disputing a few things myself, one wasn't even in my name, but it came back verified anyway O_o. I've seen plenty of advertisements for credit repair companies, but I've also heard plenty of horror stories about em (I work at a bank, go figure -_-). Does anyone have any past experience with companies around the bay area?
I read online all the time about companies that repair your credit report, can that really be done? I get emails and read online about companies, like Lexington.com, that claim they can repair your credit report, "permanently remove negative items off your credit report". Of course, they charge a 99.00 start up fee, and then 79.00 a month. Considering a credit report can stop you from getting a loan, stop you from getting credit of any kind, it can stop you from getting a job. I need to rent an apartment a.s.a.p.,I have bad credit,& I have contacted credit repair agencies.? First of all,does credit repair work?(If only long enough for me to get a place,that's o.k.) Best way to repair bad credit? Short of the obvious,is anyone fimiluar with working with a specific "bad credit" repair company. I have been told they can pretty much wipe your credit clean and find that very hard to believe. I have tax leins and a discharged bankruptcy on my report and was told they can wipe that out.Very doubtful i believe, and dont want to just start throwing money out to these people with no results.
