Where can I find a trustworthy credit repair expert? I am trying to repair my credit by sending debt settlement letters to the collections agencies listed on my credit report, but they are not being cooperative. Most are saying they CANNOT settle the debt nor are they willing to delete the listing from my credit report after the debt had been paid. Can I bring legal action to an attorney that promised to help me with credit repair, and has bounced? I paid $300 to an attorney that works with a real estate firm specializing in credit repair, by disputing and of such nature. He hasn't done anything, he is now unable to be reached? What is the best way to repair credit if you can't get any credit because of the bad history? I have really, really, really bad credit anything you can think of. I want to repair it but I noticed almost all of it will be cleared up from my credit report in 3yrs any ways. Should I continue and neglect the payments and wait the 3yrs or should I try to pay them. It's been about 4-5 yrs since I last paid my creditors. Some have told me to just wait because even if I did pay back all the creditors my credit report would still show that I was past due for so long. I have been told they can pretty much wipe your credit clean and find that very hard to believe. If an item is inaccurate, do you have to give a reason why? Or can you just say it's inaccurate? The credit bureaus have to tell you why it is accurate right? Thanks for the heads up but I think your wrong on this one. There is no place to pay, the letters and e-book download without a credit card and dont ask me to signup or submit an email. How to repair credit in my case? Currently my credit score is very low as i did not make any payments since1999 and so on because of which 3 of my Credit Card companies charge off, reported loss or Cancel/Closed the accounts, and they in turn sold them to Collection companies who are reporting them every year to the credit bureau, by which my account looks so bad most recently they reported in December 2005, I know it's my mistake and i want to repair it, Some one told me that even if i repay the whole thing still it does not help me as the history of past 5to6 years still remains the same in you history is their any other way which helps me in repairing my credit, Please advice me a good solution.
Credit repair? We've been working on our credit for a home loan. My husbands score started at a 560. We settled with a collection agency and i have paid down 2 of his credit cards to $50. The collection agency so far has only reported the difference of our settlement. Supposedly sometime this week, they are supposed to report the full balance as paid in full (because of some kind of waiting, process time) Anyway, we also started working with a credit repair agency a few weeks ago. And supposedly, they have already removed 13 inquiries. Score is now at a 591. That 31 points! We need to be at a 620. So at least another 29 points. We are also thinking of doing a rapid rescore because of the collection agency. With credit repair and rapid rescore working for us, do you think we can get the score to a 620, and how much longer do you think it'll take????

Credit Repair? Hello, I am trying to get financed for a mazad miata. The salesman I have been working with indicated that because of several dings on my credit report he could get me financed but only with about 5K down. He advised me that he knew someone who could legally dispute alot of the dings and get them removed from my credit report. He claims he was able to get his own scroe raised above 700 points and said he could show me proof of that. My question is it worth going to see him to get more information on repairing my credit. He said it would only cost about 300-500 dollars and would only take about 45-60 days. Is it that easy to legally dispute debts and get them removed from my credit report. Am I looking at hidden charges?

Credit Repair? I recently stopped paying my credit card and car payments for about 4 months to catch up on my mortgage payment. My mortgage and my car payments are now caught up. I plan on paying off 4/6 of my credit cards in the next month due to them having lower balances. The other two I plan on making a fairly large payment and then continuing with the monthly payment. Credit repair? 2 years ago, my credit score was 640. I got 3 credit cards- 2 high interest clothing store, one major credit card. I lost my job, and all three were charged off. When I was being called by collection agencies, I was terrified and told them I was still working, even though I couldnt make payments. Ive paid all but a few hundred dollars off, but have these 3 charge offs on my history. My score from one of the 3 major places was 530. Ive only checked with one becuase I am told it hurts to check too often. I dont want another credit card, I dont think I could get one even if I did want one, but I dont know how to increase my score in a timely manner. Also, when collection agencies report to the credit bureaus every month, does that prolong the length of time that delinquency stays on your report? For example, an account has a "last reported" date of 03/2008 but the last payment was made in 2002, does the 2008 date prolong that negative report to be deleted from the credit report?

Credit Repair? Removing a bad record as a authorized user..? My friend was an authorized user (not joint) on his brothers credit card account. His brother ended up making late payments and then doing a settlement on this account. Unfortunately, the credit for my friend, the authorized user, was also affected. The settlement appears on 1 out of the 3 agencies...therefore, I wanted to know what is the best advice, or best letter to send to a credit reporting agency to get this issue resolved..... Credit Repair? I had a credit card go into collections 18 months ago. I settled for payment less than full with the condition that It would be considered on my credit report as Closed Paid in Full. credit repair questions? hey all, We are trying to repair our credit for many years now. from our experience we have been sent letters back from credit companies telling us that our credit on there is valid and that they will not be changing it. My understanding is that they have to provide proof of this and yet that havnt. Credit Repair Attorneys? "Credit Repair Attorneys" do they exist and how can i find one. I'm sick and tired of dealing with my credit report on my own. Recently I disputed some items and because Im in Texas my Equifax report is handled through something called CSS which just made things even more confusing, and then to top it off Trans Union did remove some of the items disputed but it turns out that they wiped my credit history completely even the good things. This is a pain in the **s and Im just fed up with it. Has anyone had any luck with an attorney?
Can you repair your own bad credit? I have recently researched information on repairing bad credit after bankruptcy, etc. It appears that items, whether true or false can legally be disputed from yourself as frequent as every 30 days. And, unless the credit bureau agencies can provide valid proof (from the original creditors) within a 30 day period, they must remove the derogatory credit from your file. Although it can take 2 - 3 times of writing dispute letters to actually get a response, this seems very interesting. It also appears that the FCRA is really in the consumers favor, but not really advertised to us because the 3 major bureaus profit from our credit history. Any experience/advice on someone cleaning up their own bad credit (not through credit repair scams)?

Do anyone know of a reputable Credit Repair Agency? I have several charge offs, and collections items on my credit report. I would like to get these items removed. The biggest challenge is with Experian they do not delete anything. I would like to purchase a home increase my score. This is our plan to Repair our Credit to buy a Home....? We have really horrible credit. We have at least $8,000 in credit card debt alone. I have been told they can pretty much wipe your credit clean and find that very hard to believe.
