credit agency? I receive a letter several months ago stating that my mom didn't have insurance at the time of services (she was hospitalized for several days). The letter never stated how much she owed. I basically filed the letter away. Last week I get a phone call from a credit agency. They wouldn't talk to me even though I have Power of Attorney. I had no clue what this was about. Today I get a letter stating that she owes $$ and the creditor is attemptying to collect debt. I go ahead and write a check for the amount due. Well now what happens? Is her credit wrecked? What do I have to do to remedy this?
How do I deal with a credit agency in a blackmail situation? I had an account with a wireless telephone company. I cut off my service and paid my final bill. I left the country for work and upon my return six months later, I had six monthly bills from the company for a phone I didnt use. Plus, I had a bill from a collection agency threatening to send their report to the credit bureau. The wireles company had continued to bill me monthly charges and when the bills were not paid and my account was sent to a collection agency. I spent 30 days disputing the charges with evidence and my dispute was denied. The wireless company refuses to speak to me. The collection agency is telling me that I either pay or my case is sent to the credit bureau. This is blackmail. I do not owe this money. But I obviously don't want this on my credit report because getting that off will cost more than the bill. What are my options? Who can I call? Where do I go? Is there an agency for consumers for this type of fraud? Do I have legal options?
what is the relationship that an attorney can have with a credit agency? As I am finishing law school, I was wondering what relationship an attorney can have with a credit agency or business that is able to pull a credit report. It seems as if no attorneys can work for a company that pulls credit reports, but can they own the company, possibly as a silent partner? Can an attorney work for or with a company that pulls credit reports even if it is not in the capacity of working with anything doing with credit reporting? Every attorney that I have looked into requires that a client bring in a copy of their credit report.
how do you get a collection agency to stop reporting on your credit report? One year ago I tried to refinance my home and found collections on my credit report. I wrote a letter stating it was not me and I know nothing about it. I wrote the 3 credit agencies and it was deleted it from my report. But now a year later the collection agency is still repoting negatively on my report. How do I get them to stop for good.
Can a debt in dispute be reported to a credit agency? I have legally terminated a contract with a gym due to a move. However they continued to bill me and gave my acount to a collection agency. This agency has refused to accepted any and all documents I can give them as proof of move. They won't even accept a notorized change of address from the USPS! They are now threatening to report me as delinquint on my credit report, dispite my dispute. ***Ladies: NEVER join Ladies Workout Express or LA Fitness***
URGENT AND DESPERATE! How can I get the credit agency's to re-score my credit score? My credit report has been messed up for years. There are a few collections on my credit that I have cleared up and proven that they were not mine and successfully had them removed. A new debt collector buys this old account and puts it back on my report. I have paid my bills on time for over a year and have lowered my balances significantly. I have been studying and reading about improving your credit like crazy for the past year. I am sick of sending a certified letter and fighting them every few months. I believe my score should be much higher, but it has only gone up about 50-60 points. The credit agency's tell me that they do not re-score. There is a extreme difference with all three agency's and my scores. Please help. I am going to need a car loan soon, and don't want to suffer a high interest rate for a account with voice stream that was never ever mine! (they also keep changing my birthday by one year.) Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! The original date that I find in my paper work is 1999. I know about the FDCPA. When they report it the 3 agency's they report as "collection status: April 2007". I can't believe that these dirt bags can get away with this!
How does an individual report to a credit agency.? I'm buying my house and land from an individual who is carrying the note for me so no bank or finance company is involved. So far I have made 39 payments without any problems, always paid early, never even one day late. Is there any way an individual can report good credit habits to a credit reporting agency? Thanks In Advance,,, JP It is all 100% legal, every payment is made by personal check, no "under the table" transactions happening. Bdancer, you're the bomb, that link has it all... THANKS

Can an individual report to a credit agency? I have horrible credit, but I am buying a truck from a friend on a personal note...I am not getting a bank loan. We wondered if it would be possible for him to report me as a debtor to the agencies to establish that line of credit to help improve my credit score, and if it is possible, what are the associated fees?
Can credit agency reinsert a charge off after it has been deleted off credit report? Recently had ballys total fitness removed from credit report through dispute but now it is back through a new agency. Is this legal, because I thought once it was deleted it cant be brough back...... Yeah it is back now through a whole new company, I guess the person who bought the debt. What kind of letter do I send or how do I go about that?
How can I find out which company uses which credit agency? I want to apply for a t-mobile contract phone and I also wanted to apply for a credit card but I wanted to know if it is possible to find out which companies (i.e. department stores like debenham etc and retail stores like topshop, la senza etc etc) use which credit agencies. I was told it is possible but I was looking for a quicker way than approaching each company individually?????????
What happens once your credit card is sent to a collection agency ??? my Capital One card was sent to a collection agency. Once it is sent to a collection agency can the balance still increase?? I thought once a credit agency has the account by law it has to stop increasing. If it is against the law how do i get them to stop increasing it and go back to the amount it should be when they recieved this account???
Collection agency has reported the same paid account twice on my credit report.? It was paid direct with Dr office. had no idea it was sent to collection. Always dealt with dr office. Bill paid in 2006. Now in 3/08 I rec. letter and reports to my credit report. Collection has proof of it being paid with Dr office but refuses to fix credit agencies report. What are my options. I have written a ltr to the collection agency and have disputed this with credit agency.
What credit reporting agency is used the most? Experian? Equifax? Transunion? Which credit reporting agency is used the most to determine APR etc trade lines? Please backup your answer as to why you are choosing that agency. I'm basically trying to find out which one is the best one to sign up for the score watch.
How to get a collection agency I have already paid to get the credit reporting agency to remove negative info? I have already paid the collection agency for a "delinquent" account, but the negative info (the record of a collection) has not been removed from my report. What is the best (easiest, cheapest, least painful way) to get this removed once and for all from my report? I have already disputed this with the credit reporting agency (transunion) but have received nasty, computer-generated letters from them indicating that I have to show "proof" that this entry never should have been on my record in the first place. HELP!~
What to do with a credit collection agency summon? I decided to go on ahead and fight back on my summon. Now the collection agency is calling me everyday day and night non-stop. I have a debt settlement agency and said they will be the one in contact with my creditors. I decided to go on debt settlement. So please I need your professional advises on this. Thanks a lot. I just want to get rid of all my credit cards.
How much money should I ask for in a lawsuit against a credit reporting agency? I had two negatives items listed on my credit report. They were both incorrect. The accounts were place in collection dispite my numerous disputes with the original creditor and collection agencies. I disputed the items with the Credit Reporting Agency. I provided proof to the CRA that disputes what they were reporting. In turn, they verified the debt. I am suing in small claims court based on FCRA. It was also determined recently by the original creditor they were incorrect in thier reporting of information. In fact, the state utility board has forced them to correct their bill and see the light as I originally complained it was incorrect.
How Do I Start a Credit Counseling Agency? I want to start a non-profit agency in California to help people with their credit issues. Does anyone know what is involved or whether there is funding available for this? Thanks.
Is there really a good credit repair agency ? I am trying to find a good credit repair agency. I want one who states upfront what they do and does what they say. I have some credit issues and will like to get as much help as I can to clean them up over the next two to six months.
Can a credit agency call me regarding a family members debt? I just received a call from a collection agency looking for a family member. I dont know how they got my number but he has never lived here and would never have given my number out. I am on the do not call list, I feel this is harrassment. Can they call me and if not, where do I report this?
I thought I settled my credit problems with sears, now there is a collection agency involved. Am I obligated? Well over a decade ago (probably closer to 2) I had a problem with an upaid balance and my Sears account was closed. We argued back and forth about the balance but I didn't get anything in writing and back then I wasn't checking my credit reports. I even applied for another Sears card and was approved and still have it. Yesterday, I received a collection notice on the original account which due to fees and charges, has now escalated to over three thousand dollars. This does not appear on any of the three credit reporting agencies' reports. Can this new collection agency do this since the account was closed well over ten years ago? Sounds like a last ditch scam effort to me.
Easiness to report to Credit reporting agency? I have a threat from a professional with whom I would like to dispute a charge, but he is going to report it to Credit reporting agency. Once he does it seems life becomes tough for me to get it out, I will have to go to a lawyer and fight in court. Just want to know how easy it is for this individual to report me to the credit agency + any fees associated. FTC does not ask for any proofs or anything just asks the filer if it is right. Once they say yes thats it. You got to go to an attorney. Please let me know how easy it is for him or if it is free or really cheap.
What is the phone noumber to the credit agency? ok...I'm trying to get a job that checks credit. I didn't get the job the first time around b/c I had too much deliquent debt. I am paying it all off and I have one more time I can apply for this job and it has to be within two mths that I reapply....I asked all the debt collectors the same thing when I paid my debts, "how long does it take to get off my credit and whats the credit agencys phone # ?". They all said it takes 2 or 3 mths to get it off your credit and they cant release that #. If I had the # could I call and find out if its off? Does it really take that long to be erased? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP. This is a really good job.
Which Credit Reporting Agency does BMW use? Does anyone know which credit reporting agency BMW Financial used? I am planning on leasing a BMW and have excellent credit scores with Transunion and Experian. However, currently, I have a serious dispute going on with Equifax!
How can I decide on if a credit relief agency is legit? I want to start looking into the option of getting professional assistance to get out of debt. I'm not going to mention any numbers, but the debt my wife and I have accrued over the years is ... well, staggering. Anyway, I know some company's are out to scam people, and I was wondering if their was any way to research various agencies? I'm not sure of the term I am thinking of, but the types of companies that I am referring to give you an agent, then the agent negotiates deals with your credit lenders to lower interest rates, then they give you a flat fee to pay monthly and an estimated time of paying off your debt.
how do I report to credit agency? I sold my car to a friend. He is making payments as promised, and is not late. Can i report this positive activity to his credit report?
My credit card company send my account to collection agency, what should I do? My credit card company (AMEX) sent my account to collection agency right now when I am with Credit Solution. Collection agency kept calling me to collect the fee. I told them that Credit solution is working on to negotiate with AMEX to settle the account and they told me that AMEX doent accept the their offer and cancelled my account already. Are they lying about this or its for real? Credit solution told me that if AMEX reject the offer, we should've known already and telling me dont listen to what collection agency say to me. If anything are we able to negotiate with American express instead of their collection agency? Please help. Thank you!
Does credit repair agency work? Hello fellow yahoo members, I am planing on signing up with a credit agency repairer and was wondering if these company work. I have looked on bbb.com to see this company and so far it looks great, but I need some golden advice on this so some knowledge would be highly appreciated. Credit Agency Issues ... What to do? I received a phone call earlier this week from a credit agency threatening to take legal action against me if I did not call him back immediately. I called him back, got his voicemail and left him a message asking him to tell me what account this was in reference to and what was the ammount owed. I have yet to hear back from him nearly 3 days later. I have not received anything in the mail from them. Does he have to send me something in writing stating what account he is collecting on and how much is owed? Or can a phone call/voicemail be it? I've heard some horror stories about the things creditors will do over the phone so I'd rather have everything in writing.
need advise about a credit agency calling about medical bill...? I'm a college student, with no insurance, and had to have surgery on my ankle earlier this year. I have been sending in a $100 check every month to pay off my anesthetic bill and now my remaining bill is $1200. a credit agency has been calling me for the past several months wanting me to send my checks to them and not the doctors office. Today the credit agency called me and told me that they would give me a 20% discount if I paid the remaining bill off now, which I can't afford, and if I didn't pay now they would put this negligent bill on my credit history. What should I do?? Are they bluffing? Should I keep paying the $100 every month like I have been? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I'm stressing out!
Help with a credit agency!? About a year ago I enrolled into PDCI and two days later after I enrolled I cancelled my my account. Today a credit agency called me and told me that I need to pay them $600+. I told her that I refuse to pay that amount with them. She then tells me that I have to pay or they will take me to court. I was pissed at that point. She tells me that I was in an agreement with them. I never signed any paper work. I paid 35 sum dollars to be enrolled and she said that , that was my agreement. By allowing then to take out the money I agreed to their term and conditions. They (PCDI) failed to tell me this part. What do I do????? Please help!!!!!!! thank you inadvance.
Report someone to Credit Agency without SSN? Is it possible for me to report someone as delinquent to a credit angency WITHOUT their Social Security Number? What if I pass it on to a collection agency, can they do it without the SSN? Is there any way possible? Things like full name, street address, phone number, DOB are all known, just not SSN. Just to clarify, this is in USA. Helpful info if I were in Canada, but I'm not. Thanks! OK even if it is not me doing it, can someone be reported to the 3 credit bureaus without their SSN?
I want to pay my debt off but the credit agency wont respond...? I want to pay my debt off but the credit agency wont pick up there phone i've left my number twice and asked them to return my call and have called four or five times total and all on regular bussiness hours! What do i do now? I want this debt cleared up.
I got a response from my "pay to delete" request to a credit agency. Is this legit? I call a collection agency to negotiate a pay to delete. They agreed. I asked for something in writing and this is what they sent me. I wanted to check with someone who knows more about possible loop holes in the wording. Dear Mr. Me Please be advised that we will take the necessary steps to delete the account listed above from your credit file upon receipt of payment in full due to the circumstances involved. Please have payment in our office within ten days or the offer is null and void. If you have any further questions contact us at ......... sincerely, credit agency name. So, is this a legit response to have in writing that says they will delete the account?
Can a second party that bought a bad debt from 13 years ago report to the credit reporting agency? In 1994 my husband had a bad accident at work and our credit took a dive, Here we are 14 years later and we have a 700+ fico and we started to get calls and also being reported to the credit agency companys that we never heard of, Can an agency buy the bad debt that was written off over 10 years ago and start messing with your fico score. I thought that after 10 years the creditors could not report back as a dab debt. does that not apply if some other company buys the debt.
Got in car accident, no insurance. Bill for over 5,000 from credit agency. Need advice quick!? This is my second notice from this credit collection agency and it is telling me that if the balance isn't paid in full they will CAN fight to take my husband's driver's license. I talked to an agent on the phone and she said with a down-payment she could do a payment plan for $81/m for 5 years. My finances are tight, why is it over 5,000 that I owe and not just the deductible that needs to be refunded. What if someone can't afford such high payments?? FOUR: Oh stfu, please. Who said the accident was our party's fault anyway? And people die in car accidents everyday WITH insurance so where is your sense in saying what you just said you ignorant b*stard. MrJones: And you too. What is this? Everyone has a stick stuck up their ass day? If you don't care about my situation then why did you answer?? INFINIT: Thank you for your courteous answer. That was more along the lines of what I was thinking. I've had past medical bills that I had to make super low payments on because I couldn't afford in full and I sometimes paid as low as 33 cent to the dollar! We already went to court and paid the fines for no insurance and what not, the judge said nothing about taking his license away. In fact right after he plead guilty...the judge said 'good, if you would have plead not guilty I would of made you pay a 300/m fine for no insurance' Instead my husband got probation and we purchased a year of insurance. I've been hit by cars that have had no insurance and in no way did I treat them as nasty as some of these answerers have talked to me. I even got hit by a guy that THOUGHT his insurance was still valid but it had expired the day before and his wife had gotten the date mixed up. They are unfortunate people out there and for someone to tell me that having insurance and hitting someone and killing them is better than not having insurance and hitting and killing them is plain out retarded. How about safe driving??? ;/ And I'm sorry but no I will not except people getting upset about my situation because I haven't even put all the details! So who are these people to judge? My question had nothing to do with the accident. JUST THE CREDIT AGENCY---not everyone's two cents! But thank you for your advice.
credit collection agency (Where to look for?)? I was a student in 2001 and had a capital one credit card. afew months later having card and due to the excessive bills, I coudlnt' pay, they finally reported to the credit collection agency. The agency sent me several settlement plans, and It never came my mind to think of settle down. About two years later, I moved out the new place for a job. Now I'm thinking of paying back my debts to capital one, and I forgot whom to contact. and which agency. Is there anyway I could find out whom I owe money? Its been almost 6 years, since I had that bad experience. I think I need to clear off this first in order to repare my credit. Thanks
credit counseling agency or no?? Ok so I've read many comments saying not to use these services because they mess up your credit (mine is already a mess!!) , then some people say they have helped them to regain control of their credit. I am unsure of what to do--whats the verdict on this--I would like to hear from some people that have used the services of CCCS or some other agency, also would like to hear from people who have fixed their credit on their own. Please help--I need to get my credit in order.
Which credit reporting agency is 'the best'? I had a "fraud alert" placed on my credit report with all three reporting agencies, a good while back. They state I can get a free credit report (in addition to previous reports, apparently...simply because of the fraud alert)...within 90 days of receiving a letter I got from each of the reporting agencies. Which agency is 'the best' of all three; Equifax, Experian or TransUnion? Thanks. Equifax certainly seems to be the most popular, with Experian coming second. Is there a reason for that in general, or just the whole "well-known company" thing?
Credit Collection Agency call after almost 5 years.? A collection Agency called me for a rental due on me almost 5 years ago. It is about some cleaning charges on the aparment I was living in. I took over the lease from somebody so they have his as well as my name on the collection. They are threatning me now since they see property in my credit history that I have a home. My question is Can they call me for some charges where they have a mix up of names and that too after almost 5 years. What is the legal time frame for them to get in touch with me after the debt is due. I guess they just overtook the account and are looking at some old files. How can I resolve the issue. Please let me know.
credit collections agency? suppose i stopped paying my credit card and it was turned over to the collections agency. how many months do you think it would take before a sherriff would come to my place to notify me to go to court if they were to press charges? if i dont show up to court will i be arrested or will it be automatically deducted from my work wages when i find work through wage garnishment? what if i cant find a job and save up money to pay the bill off what could happen?
Any bad experiences with hiring a Credit Counseling Agency? I recently signed up for credit monitoring through my bank so I can completely pay them off my bad debt, now that I have the $$$ to do so. Even though I can do this on my own by calling each company, I felt that it would be a good idea to hire a professional who could negotiate better and get all negative items completely removed from my credit history. I contacted a credit counseling company I heard advertised over the radio, and they were pushy right away (red flag). They said they would charge me $399.00 and they are located notionally, so I wonâ??t need to meet with them face to face. I hung up and decided I have some homework to do before I make another call. Anyone out there who have used a credit counseling agency and had a bad experience?
I'm suing a credit reporting agency for three hundred thousand dollars? One credit reporting agency refused to remove negative information from my credit report. This negative info is not some credit card, but a judgment and a federal tax lien! I have been denied credit and I am suing for defamation and for numerous violations of the FCRA. My questions is, has anyone heard of a successful lawsuit similar to my case? Thanks
would a credit collections agency really sue me for $1000? recently my dad called me from texas (i live in washington) and told me that a collection agency wanted to sue me for an old debt (originally a $300 credit card....with interest $1000 now). i don't know how they got his phone number and i have had some debt before and no one has ever sued me for the money. would they reallly sue me over $1000. i know i should pay the debt back, but i can't at the moment. they want all or nothing it seems like.
What is the best way to remove collection agency error from credit report? I received a notice from a collection agency from an account that I have never had. My first name is even spelled wrong. It has appeared on my credit report (I've only checked TransUnion so far). Should I first try to dispute the error directly with the credit reporting agencies or send a letter to the collection agency (if so, what is a good template for the letter). Also, it has been over a year since it was placed for collection (i thought the notices were junk mail since my name was misspelled). Is this an issue? Thanks.
Do anyone know of a reputable Credit Repair Agency? I have several charge offs, and collections items on my credit report. I would like to get these items removed. The biggest challenge is with Experian they do not delete anything. I would like to purchase a home increase my score. I paid all my collection accounts and charge offs everything have zero balances three years ago. I only fell behind because I was taking care of a sick parent. My mistake was I never received or asked for a written letter from the creditor to remove it off my credit report after I paid it. At the time all I was thinking about 3 years ago was paying off my debt. Do credit repair work and is there any repair agency that is highly experienced with Experian. I tried the creditor but they will not work with me. I tried disputing all come back verified. I believe I need a experienced person to help with this. I'm in Southern California
Which should I sue, the credit reporting agency, the original creditor or both? Equifax credit reporting agency failed to remove negative information from my file even after I provided them proof of paid satisfaction of judgment from the court. I am about to sue them. But what about the original creditor?. Aren't they responsible too? They filed the judgment through an attorney back in 2003. But they even sent me letters that the debt is paid! can I sue them since they are the ones who report negative info? woe is me. What should I do? Thanks
Pay it off myself, or go to a credit reduction agency? I'm 23 years old, and I'm 1500 dollars in credit debt. It's impossible to find a renting place for an apartment with the bad credit, so I come to the friendly people here for some advice. Is it better, in the long run, to pay off the credit debt myself, or to go to a debt reduction agency and have them work with me to get it paid off?
Can you give me advice on dealing with a credit collection agency? I recently had a message from an agent of a credit collections agency. I returned the call and got her voicemail, which I left a message and asked her to return my call. A few days later she called and told me that I have an account with them for $1000. She advised me that they had already reported it to the credit bureau's as a delinquent account (even though I had no prior knowledge of it). I told her that I was willing to pay the account, in full, right now, if they would agree to delete it off my credit report since I didn't know about it. She declined. The conversation became quite hostile and I asked her to please show me some respect, this was a meere oversight on my part, not a deliberate attempt to avoid a debt. Her reply, "you're in collection, you don't deserve respect". I immediately asked for her supervisor and she refused. I advised her that I would not be speaking with her any longer, only to someone else. She said "I'll refer this to litigation" and she hung up. My question is this.... Is there a way for me to dispute this since I had no prior knowledge of it, if I pay it in full right away? Do credit agencies ever agree to delete something off a credit report like this (the account is 2 months old). lastly... What are my rights? Thanks for the good info. However, I DO know that they have FOR SURE they have posted it on my credit report. I subscribe to a credit monitoring service and about three weeks ago I got a notice from Equifax saying that a collection account was placed on my credit report.
Has anyone ever been ordered to court mediation from a credit card agency? a woman came to my house and gave me papers that said "served" and said that she was from the Sheriff's office. She was in a regular car and didn't show any identification. I took the papers and it said that I had a credit card 5 years ago and twelve hundred dollars was racked up and I needed to attend mediation. Well, to make a long story short, my ex who used to beat me up bought things and wouldn't let me pay the card. I had forgotten about it when I moved back home a couple years ago. I called the agency and the woman was saying "not all guys are like that" and weird stuff like that and I told her she wasn't making any sense. She was being horrible. She wouldn't work with me on making 3 monthly installments. She said either pay it all now over the phone or go to mediation. The problem is, the mediation's on my fourth day of school. So my mom got very upset and called the courth house. They told her all that would happen if I didn't go is my credit would be affected. True?
What if the caller claims they are a collection agency, but they are part of the credit card agency? Hi. A friend has a late Credit card debt, and got a call from what she thought was a collections agency. She specifically asked, and they said they were a collections agency, not affiliated with the bank holding the card. Then they refused to deal in writing, and within a few days renigged on the deal they had offered her, and are threatening litigation. Turns out the company IS affiliated with the bank holding the card. They say she "missed out" on the chance to negotiate. We are going to fight this. What can we do? Thanks in advance...

I have other accounts on my report that have been closed and have not been reported since being closed. i just need to know if this is ok and is it hurting my credit
Info not "updated" in credit agency reports? I had paid off debts years ago, but when I applied for mortgage pre-approval, 1 agency showed that I had never paid off the debt. The loan officer said "it just hasn't been updated."....What does that mean? How do I get it updated?
Does a car dealership have ot report ot a credit agency? I just got this car in Oct of last year. Its a 99 Jetta Wolfsburg edition and at 7,000 dollars with only 23,000 miles on it I thought it would be a good car. I of course thought it had a new engine because of the mileage but it had not. The car had also been in a wreck before and has some other problems now that going to cost me so far 400 dollars to fix. Anyway, my husband and I are trying to buy a house and I was expecting my car to be on the credit report. Its not. The dealership I bought the car from does not report. The whole reason I bought the car was for building my credit. I even told him that and he was like "well this is the way to do it!" like all cheering me on. I know my option ( go get another loan like a bank loan to get credit and pay him off ) But why would he not report and lie about it. Is he hiding something or is there anything to do to get some credit for this?? I financed the car through the dealership, Im paying him and Im paying 24% interest, 306 a month. None of it is being reported I even asked him.
Can I search out companies who report directly to a specific credit agency, so I can build credit where I want I have lots of credit reported to experian and equifax, but Trans Union has NOTHING reported to them! Do certain companies just report to trans union, or, better yet, which reports to ALL 3, all the time? We are working on getting preapproval for a home loan, but my credit score between the 3 is very erratic....one is high, and the other is LOW, and the other doesn't exist! What can I do? I am so sick of this credit game. There should be a law against this kind of mental torture.
goddammit credit agencies!!!!? When I turned 18 I got a phone line activated and I disconnected a few months later due to horrible service and never paid my bill of 30.00. Well that was almost 2 years ago when this happened. I have moved from my place and never have recieved any returned mail from the phone company. Well I guess the account went delinquent and now they are charging me over 200.00!!!! The credit agency finally found me September 7 and contacted me the first time to tell me about this, I haven't recieved a single piece of mail or a bill from these guys, so this is the first time hearing about this. Anyways, They said that they wanted this paid off right away and I said hey hold on I need a bill or something from you, you guys could just be any joe shmoe calling me asking for money. And they told me that they would send me something in the mail. Well it's been a month and I have yet to recieve anything and they keep calling daily and I keep telling them that I need a bill. What should I do?

I need to find an inside contact with all of these credit agencies for my business that I currently have. Question About The clear credit agencies? I have been seeing adds on TV about different Clear Credit agencies that can help clear bad credit. Does this really work? Do they help with student loans too? Has anyone had any experiences with the clear credit agencies?
Do credit agencies go after the person whose name is on the loan or the one on Title? Long story short. I have a house in Calif. that was to be shared with a real estate partner. The loan is in my name, but after some shady actions (not by me), I believe the title is now solely in his name. If I were to simply walk away from the house, would the credit agencies go after me or him? He also owns another house in Calif. Would they put a lien on his home?
I paid off my mortgage, all 3 credit agencies took it off my report. Is this bad? I paid off my mortgage about 3 months ago. All 3 credit reporting agencies took it off my reports. The payments were always made on time. There was never a late payment. Should the agencies leave this item on to show credit worthiness, or is it better to leave it off? I would like to buy a new house next year. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Victim of identity theft. Reported to police, credit agencies- no help. Is there way to contact FBI for this? Has been going on 5 years now. Lost my wallet at the beach, someone found it, is using my information to obtain credit. Has charged nearly $45,000 (yes, even bought a mobile home in my name). I have reported to police and have fraud alerts with the credit agencies now, but still getting collection notices from new creditors. I am in NC, the person that is doing all of this is in Georgia. I have been able to find out who it is that is committing this crime against me and even have address info on him, but don't know where to go from here. I have my own business and this is ruining me because I have to use my social security # when dealing with new vendors, and I'm being declined credit. It is affecting my business and personal life, my whole family. It's becoming a nightmare. He's also used my identity for employment purposes. I know where he is, just need to get to him before any more damage is done to me. I have proof -Does the FBI handle these things-How would I contact them
Can I send a letter of proof of payment to the credit reporting agencies if the lender did not report payments I bought a car with a 3 year finance term. I paid the car every month on time, and finally I have paid it off! My credit is poor, so I wanted to rebuild my credit this way. Unfortunately the dealership I bought from does report to the credit agencies if you have purchased a used car. They did however, write a letter that states I paid every month in full, and on time until the car was paid for outright. Can I send a copy of this to the agencies so that they may verify it and add it onto my report? If anyone has any good answers for me please let me know!! Thanks!
Is it lawful for a collection agency to report me to a credit reporting agency without notifying me of the deb I am 73 ....3 yrs ago I broke my leg ...all the bills were paid mostly by medicare.... although one Dr sent bills to the wrong address consequently I never saw it(even though 13 other people sent to the right address)..... a few months ago I applied for acredit card and was rejected.....I wrote a letter to the credit reporting agency to find out why and they gave my current address to credit collection company who then mailed me the bills in other words the collection company made no attempt to find me but ruined my credit so they could find me .....I say they violated the law . anyone know what my remedies might be?
Is it correct for any the three Major Credit Reporting Agencies to outsource services overseas? On 19 February 2007 I contacted TransUnion, one of the three major Credit Reporting Agency (CRA). I contacted them because my user ID and password they had prescribed was not working. I asked a simple question to the lady which answered the phone. Due to her difficulty understanding what I was saying to her on the phone and my difficulty understanding her; it mad me curious as to whether she was located in the U.S. or overseas. I asked here exactly that; her response was "For security reasons I am not able to provide you with that information". This automatically tells me that she is in fact located in a foreign country and has access to my most sensitive information. Fraud is ramped in todayâ??s world and one of the three primary agenciesâ?? who has access to my most personal information is outsourcing their customer service overseas. What is most surprising is I had submitted my concerns to governmental organizations and they provided no response as of yet. A concerned citizen
Can Credit Reference Agencies supply personal expenditure information? My organisation is interested in using a Credit Reference Agency to help us determine the correct course of action to take against those people that have not met their payment obligations. We would also benefit from information that would help us negotiate a more realistic repayment schedule (above the organisations minimum level) where a customer has a lot of arrears. If we could obtain information that shows us how much a customer spends and repays per month on credit cards, store cards, mobile phone bills etc we would be in a much stronger position in our negotiations. The credit reference agencies that I have dealt with so far only tell us if a customer is making payments or not. They do not say how much these payment are for.
Credit Report and Collection Agencies? Is there a specific time period a collection agency must wait before reporting a debt to a credit reporting agency? For instance, If I have something that was sent to a collection agency, and I pay it with in 30 days of referral, will that still end up on my credit report?
Credit Report contains same acct reported by several agencies? Can multiple collection agencies report the same debt for collections? I pulled my credit report from all 3 agencies this morning & have been going over them with a fine-tooth comb today. In the course of this I have discovered that several different collection agencies have reported the same debt on all 3 reports. Is this legal? As it stands, it now appears that I have more debt than is actually owed. How do I go about getting the duplicates removed from the report? Do I dispute them with the Credit Reporting Agency or attempt to contact the collection company that placed them there in the first place? Any help is deeply appreciated ... Thanks! Let me explain a little further ... 1. Collection Agency A has reported an acct for XYZ comp to all 3 Credit Reporting Agencies (Transunion, Experian, Equifax) 2. Collection Agency B comes along & reports the SAME debt for XYZ to all or just one of the Credit Reporting Agencies. 3. After the debt has been reported by A & B, Collection Agency C comes along & reports the exact SAME debt for XYZ to all or just one of the Credit Reporting Agencies. Each collection agency has reported their information within 6 mos to 1 yr of each other. While the amts reported are the same, each collection agency has "conveniently" left out some info when they reported the debt to the 3 major Credit Reporting Agencies. This is making it appear that I have more debt than is actually owed & has a definite bearing on my Credit Score & ability. Hopefully, this helps a little further. If you are still in doubt, please feel free to email me ... Thanks!
Anyone Know A Good Credit Repair Agency? I've been looking at my credit scores for the past 2 years. I know where I stand but it seems like I can't seem to get a good grip on getting rid of my debts. Does anyone know a Credit Repair service for a mixture of debt? I have student loans, a credit card, and old cellphone contract on my report that's really holding me back. I've been paying on them, but nothing seems to be happening. I need more help. Any good Agencies out there, that will really get my scores raised and debt alleviated somehow?
What is the best and legitimate credit counseling agency(ies)? A friend and I were both trying to find assistance (of any kind) in regard to reining in our finances via the assistance of a credit counseling center, but we're worried about fraud. Also, I've heard that just by consulting one of those agencies, your credit rating is immediately impacted in a negative way - is that true? It doesn't make sense...if you're trying to get help BEFORE you "screw" the credit card company by defaulting, you shouldn't be "punished".
How do you prove Identity Fraud to all 3 Credit Reporting Agencies? There are a couple of things on my credit report that say I owe someone for rent in 2003 in another state that I didn't live in at the time. The collection agency has my social # but say that I have to prove that I was not living there. Now there is suspicious address being reported on one of my Credit Reports as my Current Address. How do I go about fixing this? And is it hard?
I want to know if I can rely on any credit couseling agencies or if there is a better way to relieve big debt. My parents are in debt, about $30k and obviously the min. payments are definitly not going to get them anywhere. Problem is they don't own a home or any type of secuirty for a loan, so a bank loan is out of the question. I just want to know if there is some way that I can check up on a credit counseling agency, I know some can really help, or if there is another method altogether. I am looking into a charity that is connected with the United Way and their services are free. I'd be greatful for any insightful answers!
Credit score-Collection agency hurt only with your name____________________? Can anybody tell me if any company or collection agency can report to credit companies or hurt your credit only with your name?? Somebody used my credit card and business card and purchased something for $850. I did report to credit card company before this happened. However, when somebody used my credit card, the company only photocopied the credit card with the business card and now this company is tracking me down. They say that I responsible because they didn't get pay the next day. They say that my signature is the same in the invoice and my credit card. This is A BS!!. Can they mess up my credit, they have told me that they will work with a collection company to chase me down. Should I worry About? Can they mess up my credit with my name, they don't have any personal info? Any experiences? Note. This company didn't get paid At All, and whoever bought this product got it for free, basically using my credit card.
