Do student loans look bad on your credit report? I'm graduating from a community college soon, and will be transferring to a 4 year university. I'm taking time off to work and save up for the university. I'm nervous about taking out a student loan because i don't want that debt hanging over my head for the next 5-10 years and i don't want anything bad on my credit, are student loans bad or are they not that big of a deal?
Bad Credit Student Loans? I have bad credit and need additional loans for school this year. I've tried 3 co-signers with no luck and I don't qualify for a loan on my own. Does anyone know of any loans for students with bad credit. I already have Stafford loans and they don't cover nearly enough. I need about $25,000. I don't have time to apply for grants and scholarships as school starts in two and a half months. Unless anyone knows of any that are really quick.
How to consolidate my private student loans with bad credit.? I have student loans with sallie mae. I have around 76,000 with private and federal student loans. I have ran out of forberence. I had to use my forberences in the past because of no job or not enough money to make payments. Well...now my payments is over 1500 a month. I will be starting a new job next monday. I will be making around 2000 dollars a month. My wife and I and my mother have a house together and our morgage is 1775 and i also have a son. As you can see theres no way I can make that high of a payment. i now have very bad credit because of the student loans. My mother was also the co signer for the loans and she has bad credit. My wife dosnt have very good credit also. I guess you can say that I dont have another co signer to use. I am trying and stressing on how to pay my loans and getting my credit back. If anyone knows or can give any advice please please do.

I have bad credit and student loans...help? I have bad credit and alot of student loans. I have thought of bankruptcy but that dosn't cover my student loans does anyone know of any banks or credit unions that would give a loan big enough to pay off all of my debt so that I could make just one payment a month. I have tried a credit consolidation place a long time ago and they stole the 700 dollors that I sent to them so I will not do that again and like I said before I won't file for bankruptcy. I don't eat out I don't smoke and I don't drink starbucks. So please don't tell me to live cheap.
Does bad credit effect undergradute student loans? Im thinkin about goin to university to study optometry, the course would be an undergraduate course BSc. I have a very bad credit rating and im not sure if this will effect my ability to get a student loan as i thought they were given out from the goverment not financial institutions? Student Loans for Students with Bad Credit? I am a 19 year old college student going into my junior year. My parents have bad credit and so do I because I had to use credit cards to pay for the last two years of college and federal aid didn't cover. Federal aid doesn't cover a 1,000$ of my tuition and rent for both semesters about 1900 each semester and my books 600 for the year. My parents have already taken out loans in my name for school (with my permission), so I know my social security number has passed through the system before. Bad Credit, Need Student Loans? I have bad credit now since i was taking to the police station by force for Overdose. Now i have my life turned around and want to go to college. I apllied at many places and now because of the hospital i have BAD CREDIT. Im in debt 14,000.00. To Cure me only cost 600. but the other 13,300.00 was the 4 day stay. Student loans for adult students with bad credit? Well, I'm in a two-year degree program at the local community college, but need to take out a student loan for a computer and books. I'm 20 years old, married, and unemployed at the time (seven and a half months pregnant). My husband is only 19, and hasn't been at his job for longer than three months (although he's been consistently employed for the past year and a half). Student Loans, Bad credit, No cosigner. What do I do? Everytime I apply for a student loan I get denied. I don't have good credit and everyone else in my family has horrible credit, therefore a co-signer is out of the question. I have to work 3 jobs to pay for school which leaves me not much time to study and tired througout my classes, therefore resulting in 2.0-2.3 gpa every semester which means scholarships are out of the question too. On top of all that I have to pay out of state tuition. There is not a single college in my state that offers my major, Hospitality and Entertainment Management. Plus I hate living here and don't care for this state at all. I love my out of state school and the state its in. I thought about becoming a resident of the state to get in-state tuition but i would have to quit school for a year and work a full time job. I refuse to be in school for 6 or 7 years and I'm already a year behind and I started in 2004 and is still considered a Junior, so I won't do that. So r there any loans out there for 1 like me?

I am independent , working full-time , and went to the first year of college full time paid it out of my pocket, but stopped it for awhile , because the cost is way too much . I need to borrow 1551 to pay of an old encumberance. No one can lend me the money I don't particularly care about the interest rate, if I can't get this loan, I can't go to school. I have a job here, but not back home, I depend on this job, meal plans etc to live. Parents can't afford to feed me. As they shouldn't have to. Talk to financial aid admistrator they don't have any options left. Private summer student loans with bad credit but with co-signer ...? I know there's a thousand "I have bad credit and I need more loans" post, but my situation is a little different I think. I just need about $3,000 for summer school (wasn't covered by my pell grants), I have pretty bad credit (about $2,000 in debt on 3 credit cards), but my mom has OK credit (some flags show up because she gets most of her money from pension, and only makes about $40,000 a year other than that. She's never declared bankruptcy and has a good history of paying her mortgage and credit cards. Another flag comes up with her because she has a lot of outstanding credit card debt, but she pays on it regularly). I was already denied by astrive, and they made it pretty clear while there were still oustanding debts on my end, it didn't matter if I had a co-signer or not. Are there any lenders that are a little more flexible, willing to look at the situation a little more in depth instead of just going by a credit score formula? Need student loan, bad credit, where should I look? My parents pay for my schooling, but I still have to pay for books and other fees that go along with school. I do have a pell grant, but my dad controls that so I don't see a penny of it. I am considering getting a small student loan, so that I can: a) Get out of credit card debt (almost $2,000) b) Have a little money to spend c) Get a place on campus I know that this is a way that I can get some money, take care of some problems and sort my life out. Once I get finished with school, I'll have a job and be able to pay it all back. I was thinking 5,000 dollars would be a good starting point. Problem is, that I don't want family to know that I am doing this and my credit really sucks. I have a small job, but it's just enough to pay for the bills. This would give me some leverage. Or other federal loans where it doesn't matter what your credit score is. I could maybe get my dad to be a co-signer, but I want to try it on my own first. And don't say scholarships/grants cause I already have the FAFSA filled out, and I'm also getting both the Stafford loans, Perkins plus I have the Pell grant and a couple others I believe. And I don't like scholarships, writing essays on stuff I don't care about is not my thing. I've been told I can take my Spring semester in the Fall but that will put me behind in my nursing program. Will bad credit hurt my chance for student loans? To make a long story short, I have had a very, very bad six months personally and one of the worst things (besides a cancelled wedding six weeks prior to it happening) was having my car repossessed after being ONE month late. Student Loans-bad credit? Does anyone know if student loan companies will turn you down for bad credit? I have bad credit but would like to go to college here shortly and the only thing holding me back is money. What I would like to do is take out a loan large enough to cover my living expenses and my tuition while I am in school, so that if I have a bad month at work I don't have to worry about being homeless while still trying to work and go to school. I figure a $25,000 loan would be enough to cover all expenses and tuition for one year and that I could make payments on it while I go to school, but since payments aren't required until graduation, i could skip a month of payments if necessary. Any information is helpful and greatly apppreciated. Oh if it helps I think my credit score is about a 450. thanks
Does anyone know of any private student loans for people with bad credit? I am trying to get a private student loan. I got one last year, with a cosigner, and now, using the same cosigner, they are denying me! They are saying that my cosigner is now "uncreditworthy." If anyone knows of a private, non-TERI loan for someone with bad credit, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I already had to forfeit this quarter because I can't get any money!
Are there any private student loans that accept applicants with bad credit with no cosigner? I've exhaused my fededral loan options for the year, I have no credit worthy coapplicants, not poor enough for grants... I'm trying my hands a a few scholardhip awards, but I need the money before September. I working on my credit rating but that takes a while... Any solutions/answers???... How can a student with bad credit go about getting a good student loan for University college? I am a student going to a community college on full scholarships. However, next fall I am planning to go to Mississippi State University. My problem is, even though I am only 19, I have already defaulted on a loan and stopped payments on a cellular phone contract. My credit isn't even good enough to get a Wal-Mart card anymore. I am trying to get a hefty student loan to pay for my school expenses in my quest for higher learning. I would get a co-signer but no-one in my family has a good credit score either. So how would someone in my position go about getting a good loan for college?
